Don't wait for a limp

Signs your cattle are due for a trim

Overgrown feet change how an animal stands and walks. Catching it early is easier on the animal — and on you.

  • ①

    Long toes or "slipper" feet

Toes curling up or growing out past normal length.

  • ②

    Rocking back on the heels

Weight shifting backward, a stiff or shortened stride.

  • ③

    Limping or favoring a foot

Sore-footed cattle eat less, gain less, and lose condition.

  • ④

    Overgrown dew claws

Small, but they catch on things and cause injury.

  • ⑤

    Show season is coming

Square feet and a clean stride make a difference in the ring.

  • ⑥

    It's been 6+ months

Routine trims keep small problems from turning into big ones.

Services

What we do

Routine maintenance trims

Keep feet balanced and cattle moving comfortably. Ideal every 6–8 months for show and working stock.

Overgrown & corrective trims

Long-neglected or curled feet brought back to a sound shape — carefully, over one or more visits as needed.

Popular

Show steer & heifer prep

Our recurring show clients get feet done on a schedule so the animal stands square and moves clean when it counts.

Sore-footed & lame cattle

Assess, trim and relieve pressure. We're happy to work alongside your vet when a case needs it.

Dew claw trimming

Often overlooked. Trimmed dew claws don't snag, tear or cause discomfort.

Herd & sale-barn days

Several head, or set up after a sale at a local feed store or barn. Ask about group days with your neighbors.

Straightforward pricing

Every job is quoted up front — per head, plus travel based on distance. Group your stop with neighbors on a route day and everyone saves.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need my own chute?

No. Our setup is fully mobile, so we can work on places with no chute or squeeze at all. If you do have one, we're happy to use it.

How often should cattle be trimmed?

For show steers and many working cattle, every 6–8 months keeps feet in good shape. Some animals need more or less depending on ground, diet and genetics — we'll tell you what we see.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the number of head, their condition, and travel distance. We quote before we come out. Grouping with neighbors on a route day usually lowers the cost for everyone.

How far do you travel?

From the El Paso region north through New Mexico, including Las Cruces, Alamogordo, La Luz, Veguita and the Albuquerque / Rio Rancho area. Outside that? Ask anyway.

My cow is limping. Can you help?

Often, yes — many cases of lameness start in the hoof. We'll assess and trim, and if it's something that needs a vet we'll tell you straight and can work alongside yours.

Can you do a whole group or a sale-barn day?

Yes. We've set up at feed stores after sales and do herd days. Message us with your numbers and location.
